What are the signature elements in your designs?

For our winterwear, our signature element is faux fur—we are known for our superior quality of faux fur on our wools. In the summer, we are known for our vibrant and bold prints.

Which collection are you most proud of, and why?

The collection I'm most proud of is our most recent winter collection named 'Cocoon.' It juxtaposes our love for faux fur with silhouettes that are relevant across ages and pieces that are timeless and match with your staples as well as more current pieces. We also spent a lot of time designing and detailing this collection, which makes it a true labor of love.

Where do you find inspiration for your designs?

My inspiration comes from everywhere—the mind never stops ticking. I find it in my travels, in participating in various international trade shows, in nature, and in my practice of Ikebana.

Which designer in the world inspires you?

I would say that someone like Ralph Lauren inspires me greatly. He does the chic everyday look very well with his brand Polo and also excels in accessories. At the same time, with his namesake brand, he also does brilliant couture.

Share a memorable "aha" moment from your design career.

When we explored doing faux fur for the first time, we were unsure of how the pieces would be accepted. No one was doing it at the time and it was a bold move. We designed a capsule collection for winter and from the very first day of launch, the collection did exceedingly well! It was an "aha" moment that made me realize that you should always go with your gut.
